Martin D. Payson, Managing Partner, Carl Marks Healthcare Partners LLC (CMHP), was among leaders in healthcare, government and business addressing current and future issues surrounding the healthcare environment at the second annual Aspen Health Forum, held in July in Aspen, Colorado.

During panel discussions, Payson and other healthcare industry experts explored the research and policy initiatives designed to help the United States adjust to an increasingly aging population, as well as ways to extend the healthy and active years of life for seniors.

Experts also discussed health issues distinctive to baby boomers and examined the various health services the elderly seek to ensure their well-being is securely covered. Payson outlined a successful healthcare delivery system that provides compassionate and comprehensive care for geriatric patients by using a team approach in coordinating care to improve patient outcomes.

Payson’s extensive experience in the healthcare industry includes serving as current Chairman of the Board for Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.; Chairman of the Board for Nassau Health Care Corporation in Nassau County, N.Y.; and as a member of the Board of Governors of Howard University Hospital in Washington D.C. He has previously served on the Boards of Directors for Howard University as Chair of Medical Affairs and at Tulane University in New Orleans as Chair of the Health Sciences Committee. Payson was also the former Vice Chairman of Time Warner, Inc. Payson is a recipient of the United Hospital Fund’s prestigious Health Care Leadership Award of New York. He has also received the New York University School of Law Vanderbilt Medal Award and Tulane University’s Dermot S. McGlinchey Lifetime Achievement Award.
